Kit Car Shows
Donington National Kit & Performance Car Show 2012
I had planned to attend the show all weekend and camp over the Saturday night, unfortunately I had a couple of problems which prevented me from getting my camping kit ready so in the end I decided I would just attend the show on Sunday.
I left mine Sunday morning at 6am and arrived at the show for 08.30 I had a really good run down with very little traffic on the roads.
The show wasn't as big as Newark and was a bit disappointing in my eyes but those that attending Saturday and Sunday said they had a really good time especially Saturday evening with free entertainment, a BBQ and live band.
The organizers had a meet and greet meeting in the evening to get ideas to improve next year’s event.
There were 53 stands but not that many manufacturers (12) present but there is room for more next year. There were a few other things to do and watch CKC Workshop, Face painting, CKC stars, Sketch and draw competition, Part zone demo, Westfield sports cars drift experience and a precision driving display not forgetting the outdoor Club areas, (We had 10 cars on our stand during Sunday.) Also you could visit the grand prix museum just down the road for half price. There was also the 750 motor club championships racing both days which was free and entertaining. I will try and attend next year’s show for the whole weekend and visit the museum while I am there, I just didn't have enough time only being there one day.
The drive home was hectic especially on the M1 four lanes all full and the fast lane was only travelling at 60 mpm at best.
Saturday Morning a lonely Lee.
A very nice addition to this MEV
